Latest news about Vulnerability Testing Platforms

2024. Seal Security wants to make open source vulnerability remediation easy

Seal Security, a startup based in Tel Aviv, has secured a $7.4 million seed round, distinguishing itself by actively patching vulnerable packages rather than solely updating them. This innovative approach stems from the founder's experience at PayPal, where he identified a deficiency in tools capable of both identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities. Many existing tools inundate developers with numerous alerts, causing difficulty in prioritization. Consequently, teams expend significant time and effort on maintaining package updates, even for those unused in production. Presently, Seal Security integrates with GitHub to facilitate these patches within a company's CI/CD pipeline. Notably, Seal autonomously generates these patches, leveraging automated processes partially supported by a large language model.

2024. Vicarius lands $30M for its AI-powered vulnerability detection tools

One of the latest trends in generative AI revolves around "copilots" designed for cybersecurity, and major players like Microsoft, Google, and Vicarius are leading the charge. Vicarius, a vulnerability remediation platform, has entered this space with its own innovation called vuln_GPT, a text-generating AI tool aimed at facilitating the creation of scripts for system breach detection and remediation. Vicarius' strategic alignment with this emerging trend seems to have attracted significant investor interest, evident in the startup's remarkable 5x year-over-year growth. According to Michael Assraf, Vicarius' co-founder and CEO, the company's customer base has recently surpassed 400 brands, boasting notable names such as PepsiCo, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Equinix.

2023. Horizon3 secures $40M to expand its pen testing platform

Horizon3, a startup focused on enhancing the efficacy of organizational cybersecurity measures, successfully secured $40 million in its Series C funding round. The platform addresses prevalent security challenges encountered by enterprises, including the inadequacies of existing security tools, false positives, prolonged delays in engaging security consultants, and the need for manual testing. Horizon3 operates on the premise of adopting the attacker's perspective to streamline security processes, enabling organizations to identify and rectify exploitable attack vectors more efficiently. The software continuously identifies, addresses, and validates potential attack surfaces, unveiling attack paths, illustrating the potential impact of vulnerabilities on the organization, prioritizing and outlining necessary fixes, and subsequently verifying the effectiveness of those remedies.
