SkyDrive comes to Windows, MacOS and iPad. Reduces free storage

SkyDrive, Microsoft’s online storage service continues to take on Dropbox and add support for new platforms. Following the applications for Windows Phone and iPhone, Microsoft has released the desktop client for Windows and Mac OS (OS X Lion). Also, the SkyDrive's mobile interface has been optimized for iPad tablets. SkyDrive for desktop works in the usual way - it creates a folder on your computer and all the files that you copy to this folder are automatically synced with your online account, as well as with your other computers or mobile devices that are running SkyDrive. And if in the online account you create a shared folder for your work-group, the service will be continuously syncing files between the computers of co-workers.

In addition, SkyDrive for Windows has an option that allows you to remotely access any file on your computer (not only those files that are located in the SkyDrive folder). For example, you can use your smartphone to access your office computer and find the needed document or watch the video from your computer remotely (SkyDrive supports file broadcasting). Of course, all this is possible only if your remote computer is online.

The bad news is that SkyDrive reduces the limit of free disk space from 25 GB to 7 GB (for new users). Existing users who have used less than 4 GB will be also downgraded. But if you right now visit this page and click the button, your free 25 GB storage will be saved.
