ChatGPT and Watson Assistant represent two distinct paradigms in the realm of artificial intelligence. ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, is a language model celebrated for its natural language understanding and generation capabilities, excelling in tasks like conversation, content creation, and information retrieval. In contrast, Watson Assistant, developed by IBM, focuses on crafting powerful chatbots and virtual assistants that cater to specific business needs, allowing companies to design customized AI solutions for customer support, data analysis, and more. While both platforms harness AI to facilitate human-computer interaction, ChatGPT leans towards versatile text generation and open-ended conversation, whereas Watson Assistant is tailored for businesses seeking tailored and task-oriented conversational agents, showcasing the diverse applications of AI in shaping user engagement and operational efficiency.

2023. OpenAI launches a ChatGPT plan for enterprise customers
OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Enterprise, a version of their AI-powered chatbot application geared towards businesses. Initially hinted at in a blog post earlier this year, ChatGPT Enterprise possesses the same functionalities as the standard ChatGPT, encompassing tasks such as composing emails, generating essays, and identifying issues within computer code. Priorly, Enhanced Data Analysis was exclusively accessible to individuals subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, the premium subscription tier of the regular ChatGPT web and mobile applications, which costs $20 per month. It's important to note that ChatGPT Plus will continue to be offered, as OpenAI considers ChatGPT Enterprise to be an addition that complements it. What sets it apart is the inclusion of heightened privacy and data analysis capabilities, classified as "enterprise-grade." Besides, ChatGPT Enterprise delivers improved performance and an array of customization options. This positions ChatGPT Enterprise at a comparable level to Microsoft's Bing Chat Enterprise, a recently launched chatbot service tailored for enterprise utility.
2018. IBM unveiled voice assistant for business and it's called ... Watson
In "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," the super-intelligent robot Marvin was frequently asked to perform menial tasks, leading to his perpetual state of depression. A similar situation could arise with IBM's AI Watson. IBM intends to utilize Watson as a voice assistant, primarily answering basic inquiries related to weather, traffic, and schedules. Adding to the complexity, people may not even realize they are interacting with Watson since the service is white-labeled. This means that any company can now create its own voice assistant using the Watson Assistant platform and assign it a distinctive name like Ivie, for example. In fact, Watson Assistant is already deployed in various locations, including the Munich Airport and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
