AWS WAF
AWS WAF is a web application firewall that helps protect apps and APIs against bots and exploits that consume resources, skew metrics, or cause downtime.

Azure WAF
Azure Web Application Firewall is a cloud-native service that protects web apps from common web-hacking techniques such as SQL injection and security vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting.
AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) and Azure WAF (Web Application Firewall) are both cloud-based web application firewall services provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, respectively. While they share a similar purpose of protecting web applications from malicious traffic and attacks, there are several key differences between the two:

1. Platform Integration: AWS WAF is tightly integrated with the AWS ecosystem, making it the natural choice for organizations using AWS services extensively. Azure WAF, on the other hand, is designed to seamlessly integrate with Azure services and is well-suited for organizations primarily using Azure.

2. Infrastructure: AWS WAF operates within the extensive global infrastructure of AWS, leveraging their network of data centers. Azure WAF, similarly, operates within the Azure network infrastructure. The choice may depend on factors such as the geographic presence of data centers and specific requirements for network routing.

3. Rule Set Management: AWS WAF uses AWS-managed rule sets that are regularly updated to protect against common web vulnerabilities and threats. It also allows for custom rule creation and rule management. Azure WAF provides a similar approach, offering managed rule sets and the ability to create custom rules tailored to specific application needs.

4. Pricing and Billing: AWS WAF offers different pricing tiers based on the number of web requests processed and the complexity of rules. Azure WAF pricing is based on data processed and offers various pricing options depending on the level of service required.

5. Additional Features and Integration: Both AWS WAF and Azure WAF offer integration with other services within their respective cloud platforms. AWS WAF integrates seamlessly with other AWS services like Amazon CloudFront, Amazon API Gateway, and AWS Application Load Balancer. Azure WAF integrates well with Azure services and can be combined with Azure Front Door, Azure Application Gateway, and Azure CDN for comprehensive application delivery and protection.
