FusionPBX can be used as a highly available single or domain based multi-tenant PBX, carrier grade switch, call center server, fax server, voip server, voicemail server, conference server, voice application server, appliance framework and more. FreeSWITCH™ is a highly scalable, multi-threaded, multi-platform communication platform.
3CX and FusionPBX are both popular VoIP telephony solutions, but they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. 3CX is a commercial, all-in-one PBX platform that provides a user-friendly and feature-rich experience suitable for businesses of various sizes. It offers a simple setup and management process with its proprietary management console, making it accessible to users with limited technical knowledge. In contrast, FusionPBX is an open-source PBX system built on top of the FreeSWITCH communication engine, targeting more technical users and developers. While FusionPBX provides extensive customization and control over telephony configurations, it requires a higher level of expertise to set up and maintain.
